www.steven-cronin-art.com The sky is a simple Raw Sienna wash with a touch of Lemon Yellow. Working quickly, I put in the clouds with various mixes of Payne's Grey, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue and Light Red. Distant hills should reflect the colour of the sky. Once the sky was about half dry I put the hills in using various mixes of the sky colours. If you do it while the sky is still wet you get a lovely hazey effect. The closer hill uses a much stronger mix of the sky colours. The nearer bushes were put in with a mixture of Raw Sienna and Light Red.
