What You'll Need --------------------------------------------------------------------- * Mask stencil * White paper or construction paper * Black marker * Scissors * Glue gun, transparent tape or craft glue * Small, pink paper circle * Cotton balls or pom poms Step 1: The Mask --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Place your stencil onto a piece of white paper. Use your black marker to trace it.2. Cut out the tracing, cutting on the inside of the lines. Fold the mask in half to cut out the eyeholes. Unfold it and set it aside.3. Cut a long strip from the remaining part of the paper you cut the mask from. For children with smaller heads, one strip should be enough.For everyone else, cut a second strip. After looking at 2 videos and several diagrams, I finally figured out how to make these. You need 4 strips of paper that are 17 inches long and 1/2 and inch wide. This is part one. I did it in 2 parts because I wanted the entire project on here. I had so much trouble learning how to do this because the other sources seemed to skip steps, or I couldn't see the steps well enough. So, here it is, I hope someone is able to use it. If not for Christmas this year, maybe next year!!

I made this vase with paper. I have used a A4 size computer paper and cut it into strips about 3 mm. Then I gave it shape. My vase was a little fragile so I wanted to give it a little more strength. Therefore, I sprayed it with a mixture of white glue and water (both equal quantity), but it didn't work out. My vase was ruined. I need some homemade recipe to give it more strength. Randy McDaniel shows the forging of a titanium knife. Edited down to show the main points in order to fit in less than the 10 minute format. After showing how he forged a titanium sword on YouTube a lot of comments were received about this material and how it is forged and how it holds up. Hopefully this will clear up some of the myths of this material and allow people to have fun with it. Tal Harris adds: titanium will burn if you get the heat high enough. It especially likes to react with iron scale in a gas furnace at high temperatures. Putting water on burning titanium is not good. Baking soda is the preferred extinguisher. A class D fire extinguisher is a good thing to have around. When water is applied to a titanium fire, the reaction disassociates the hydrogen from the oxygen, thus making a bigger fire in an uncontrolled manner. The grinding dust will also burn. There are also quite a few alloys of titanium, some with phase changes at certain temperatures and some without. This can make a BIG difference on how the piece reacts to forging. Knowing what businesses there are in your area could give clues as to what alloy you are finding. Chemical processing equipment frequently uses CP or commercially pure titanium. Aerospace applications get into other alloys with 6-4 (6% aluminum-4% vanadium) being the most common. WARNING: Forging, knife making, titanium and all of the shown operations are dangerous and should not be done with out proper training and the ...

What You'll Need --------------------------------------------------------------------- * 2 piece of pink construction paper * Glue gun * Scissors * Wiggly eyes * Marker * Embellishments, if desired * Fake grass * Candy, plastic eggs or other treats Directions --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Fold one piece of construction paper in half. Seal the halves together with glue, tape or staples. This is the main part of the envelope.2. Fold the other piece of construction paper in half, then cut out a rabbit ear, creating two matching ears.If you'd like, you can also glue a different color of paper onto the ears to make the inside part of the ears.3. Glue the ears to one side of the inside of the envelope.4. Create the eyes on the front of the envelope. You can either glue on wiggly eyes or draw them on. 5. Create the nose using either a marker, foam or a dark piece of construction paper. Add teeth with a marker.6. If you'd like, you can add a message at the top of the envelope, such as "Happy Easter!"7. If you didn't already make the inside of the ears, you can draw them in.8. Add embellishments to the front, if desired.9. Fill the envelope with fake grass and any other treats you want, such as eggs, candy and even little envelopes with greeting cards. This tutorial will show you how to make an orange fruit cane from polymer clay. The cane slices can be used to top cupcakes, tarts, cakes, etc. You can also use the baked slices to create citrus Nail Art. Just bake the slices, and use nail glue to apply them. The flesh mixture is 90% translucent clay, with 5% orange, and 5% yellow. I was first introduced to this color combination by Angie Scarr. She is amazing! After looking at 2 videos and several diagrams, I finally figured out how to make these. You need 4 strips of paper that are 17 inches long and 1/2 and inch wide. This is part one. I did it in 2 parts because I wanted the entire project on here. I had so much trouble learning how to do this because the other sources seemed to skip steps, or I couldn't see the steps well enough. So, here it is, I hope someone is able to use it. If not for Christmas this year, maybe next year!!

March 2009, IMPORTANT UPDATE: I finally tried making mozzarella using the store-bought "milk" available here in the USA. It is pasteurized and homogenized. I used three gallons and added 1/2 tsp of liquid rennet. About 1/4 cup of buttermilk for the starter. The first thing that I noticed as being different than when I make this with non-processed milk is that while the milk set quickly, when I cut it, the curds disintegrated into tiny curds rather than remaining in the chunks for some time. It was quite difficult to strain the whey to make ricotta. (I got about a pound of ricotta). Then after letting it sit over night, it wouldn't melt although it was quite cultured by the buttermilk. I didn't add the hot water, but just added salt and it made a tasty, fairly tart cheese, something like a cross between feta and cream cheese. But it wasn't mozzarella. Good luck and have fun! 12-07: This year the museum's cow, Rain presented us with a beautiful calf, Dhana, who we are keeping. Rain is a Jersey and Dhana's Dad is a mostly white Holstein, but somehow Dhana came out almost totally black. She has some white patches on her tummy and (future) udder. 12-08 update. We have Rain back for the Winter again and I'm back to making mozzarella. Through trial and error, I've become quite good at making the mozzarella by-product: ricotta. Use the whey right after you've heated the curd (before letting it sit overnight). Heat it to 200º F and remove from heat. Then add lemon juice one TBS at a time and barely stir in the lemon juice as you watch curds form on the top. Go really slowly. When the whey looks like urine (sorry), rather than slightly cloudy, you are done adding lemon juice. Let the curd/whey set for about 15 minutes and then strain through a double layer of cheese cloth. I get about 2 lbs of ricotta from a four gallon batch of mozzarella. To think I used to give this whey to the dogs! Now they get the clearer stuff. Questo fornelletto è fatto solo ed esclusivamente con un pomello per coperchio di pentola. Non ha bisogno di nessuna modifica ad eccezione di una serie di fori sulla superficie superiore. Si incastra in una base fatta con una scatoletta di tonno con dei fori di areazione. Viene versata un pò di acqua nella base per evitare il surriscaldamento del fornello superiore e regolarizzare il getto degli ugelli. Si evitano così, delle pericolose fiamme alte dovute ad una maggiore ed eccessiva vaporizzazione dell'alcohol. E' solo un'altra idea per gli hobbisti ed amatori del genere. ;-) Buona visione e grazie delle visite.

Ed è un complemento molto utile nell'escursionismo o il campeggio o la semplice gita fuori porta. Pensare poi, che è costruito solo ed esclusivamente con una vecchia e malconcia caffettiera da una tazza, destinata alla pattumiera......
