home made tiles/coasters with printable paper?
I have been visiting a lot of craft sites like etsy. I keep seeing custom tiles like this, http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_1&listing_id=16812036 they say that it is printable paper put on the tile and coated...
how was this created? i have my own ideas how to replicate this craft but, what do you think? What is the name of the paper though?
I think they got some tumbled tiles from Lowe’s or Home Depot. They picked a font they liked and printed out on special paper. Cut it so it fits the top of the tile. Glue it down with contact cement. Spread it thin. Rub the edges of the paper to get rid of the “perfect square” look. Then cover with three coats of varnish. Glue the felt on the back and you have a wonderful set of coasters.
