This variation on the classic pencil skirt is easy enough for even the most beginner DIYer or aspiring fashionista, yet still super chic. I love bright colours, and I especially love the bright jewel tones seen on the runway at Gucci for this spring. I thought colour blocking was kind of over, but I guess it's still in style (or rather it's going out with a BANG). Thanks to Kristen Turner and Kristen Reeves of forever Vainglorious (aka. thread banger style) to turning me on to this collection. I usually just covet the French designer collections (hello Dior!) and dont give much second thought to the Italian ones. Although now I'm starting to realize that maybe Italian designers are a lot closer to my own personal style. I used a bit more than half a meter of stretch knit fabric (ie. teeshirt fabric) and about 25" of 2.5" wide black elastic. How much material you need will depend on your size and how long you want this to be. This would look great as a mini!
