or, and this has been my absolute FAVORITE since i was a kid, buy ceramic unpainted ornaments, and paint/color with marker yourselves!! its soo much fun. then you can put it on your tree, or give it as a gift from the heart.

    have fun! :)

Try the Oriental Trade Company. They have wonderful arts and crafts for all ages and at wholesale prices. I have used them often. Their link is http://www.orientaltrading.com/

It’s much cheaper than the average hobby shop and has a wide selection to choose from

Make paper snowflakes then hang them in the windows or suspended from the ceiling around the Christmas tree- children of all ages enjoy this craft. Also you can bake cookies together then decorate them with sprinkles children always love this tradition.

Snowflake instructions: 1) Fold a square piece of paper in half along AB.
(2)(3)Crease lines CD, CE, and CF and fold the paper into 3 equal sections.
(4)(5)Use CD as the center line and fold the paper in half again. CF should be on top of CBE.
(6)Cut along BD and make sure that CD and CB are the same length.
(7)Use the wedge-shaped paper to cut out paper snowflakes.

Cut out snowman shapes from white heavy paper. Hand out cottonballs and plates with a little glue on them. Have the kids put the cotton onto the paper snowman.

You can also take paper plates and cut out the middle, glue little pieces of red and green tissue paper around it and add a bow to make a wreath.

Look up a recipe for salt-dough ornaments. I just did this with 5 of my kids who range in age from 9-2 and they LOVED it!!! I went and bought acrylic paint and some glitter and ribbon from the store, made the dough and the kids had a ball! You make it like you would Christmas cookies with cookie cutters. Or if you don’t have any cookie cutters just use a smaller glass and they can make round ornaments.

YOU COULD HAVE THEM MAKE ORNAMENTS USING POPSICLES STICKS AND A PICTURE.
U PAINT OR DECORATE THE POPSICLE STICKS ANY WAY U WOULD LIKE. THEN FRAME THE PICTURE W/ POPSICLE STICKS (USE 2 POPSICLE STICKS 4 EACH SIDE, SIDE BY SIDE NOT ON TOP OF EACH OTHER) GLUE THEM AND ADD STRING ON THE TOP TO HANG. THEY R CUTE AND FUN TO MAKE.

My little one has made homemade picture frames for his wallet size photo’s out of popsicle sticks and he glued things like buttons / small trees / candy canes…etc on them to decorate! Once dry, we glued his picture to place in the middle of them and some decorative ribbon to hang them on the tree!

I have 4 kids ages ranging from 2 to 14 and they all had a blast. Bells for tree.I took small ceramic flower pots and put them bottom side up and paint and let the kids paint them. After paint dries take heavy twine and 2 large beads string first bead and knot it far enough down so bead hangs inside pot and knot stops string from coming out other side and put other bead on outside knot it close to 2nd bead and 1 last knot gives you a way to hang it. make sure to put name and date on it. My kids loved this and they also gave them as gifts to teachers and grandparents.

Why not make a gingerbread house. You can buy the kid and have the kids decorate it and when that is finished it is always fun to eat it. Yum, Yum
